I am very proud to announce! That Kathy Johnson and I officialy and publicly have become engaged to be married. No date has been set as of yet. But onces we have settled in after our move and some other issues finely taken care of. The date will be announced.

Hi! All!!! Sorry haven't been around for awhile!! But getting ready to move back to North Adams, Ma. with my Kathy. After I do I will be back. I promise!!

Fall foliage seasion is here. Good time to get ready for some color. Will be starting photo tips again this week. Also still would like to do a photo walk soon. If anyone is intrested let me know. We can set up a walk/workshop somewhere in the Berkshires.

Hi All;
Just to let you all know I had to edit my Flickr Page. Due to amount of pictures I can have on me free account. So I elemianated a lot of the 2009 & 2008 pics to make more room. I will be posting new pics soon. I did add pics of some local flooding from Irene.
Also photo tips will start again soon too.

Photo Tip #1

Why Photography? Of all media available photography is the only one that can instantly capture the moment. Video and movies are only differant versions of photography.  From the first photo ever taken to the presant it is still the same, the captureing of the moment. The form of how that takes place has changed over time. From wet plate to  B&W sheet film to color slide and print film. From 4x5,8x10, 11x14 and larger view cameras to 35mm rangefinder to 35mm SLR cameras. To the presant families of digital cameras. All with one goal, capture the moment. Many examples of this are in two great publications, National Geographic and Life magazine.
The heart, soul, and mind of a photographer is to capture THAT moment in time and then share it with others as he sees it. That should be the goal of any photographer. Because that moment will NEVER happen again. Also sometimes it is a one time ONLY event that happens and that is recording history.
